An Introduction to Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
This workshop is designed for mental health professionals who are interested in gaining in-depth and applied training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for adults with OCD. ERP, a specialized form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, is considered the gold standard and first-line psychological treatment for OCD. Exploring ACT: Strengthen Your Psychological Flexibility Skills to Ease Human Suffering
In this foundational course on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), participants will be introduced to the ACT model of human suffering, and experientially taken through the facets of psychological flexibility and inflexibility via the hexaflex. Participants will be introduced to the psychological flexibility processes including willingness, defusion, perspective taking, mindfulness, values and committed action and how they apply to various forms of human suffering including depression, anxiety, substance use, and trauma. Using clinical vignettes and experiential exercises participants will learn specific psychological flexibility skills they can use in their clinical practice that can be applied transdiagnostically to ease human suffering and help empower clients to move from a place of stuckness to one of thriving and engaged living.

Narcissism: When It’s All About Me
Therapeutic Tools for Treating Substance Use Disorders
In this engaging workshop we will explore the traits and elements of narcissism as well as the pathological aspects of this disorder. We will also review how to diagnosis NPD and the differential diagnosis that parallel similar symptomology. What We Seek in Our Instructors
We are in search of dynamic presenters who embody qualities such as passion, experience, ethics, diversity, and the ability to engage and captivate learners.
Our goal is to create courses that deeply resonate with AFFIRM learners and offer practical clinical insights for therapists.
To be considered as a presenter, here are some key criteria:
1. Teaching Experience: Presenters should have a track record of facilitating formal Continuing Education trainings. We require a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience to ensure our courses maintain a high standard of quality.
2. Expertise: Presenters/interviewees should possess a post-master's level of expertise in their chosen topic. It is generally expected that presenters are licensed professionals in their respective fields, whether it be medicine, psychology, or another related area.
3. Content Quality: All courses must meet the approval requirements of Continuing Education organizations. This entails offering evidence-based content that reflects the latest scientific knowledge and emerging practice strategies and methods.
4. Course Proposal: As part of the interview/presentation process, all presenters/guests will be required to submit a Continuing Education outline/syllabus. This should include a detailed course description, clear learning objectives, and any other relevant information.
